RECENT WORK

Trajectory, 2009

Trajectory is the last sculptural work completed by the artist before his death. Bearing a slight resemblance to his earlier To A Standing Stone series, this work features a vertical stone form bisected by the lyrical arc of a curling sheet of verdigris bronze.

THE ART OF BILL FREELAND

In his work, Bill Freeland offers metaphors to reorient the viewer to nature, environment, and the basic rituals of living.
Carrowcur Studio, Ireland, 2007

Freeland worked both two and three dimensionally to create forms that hover between artifacts and abstraction.Pennsylvania Studio, 1962

He has described himself as "an abstract realist, searching for a new form of realism," and his pieces reflect this vision.
